Our Sectors: Structured Finance

Our Sectors Structured Finance

As well as being the leading search and selection brand in the Infrastructure & Energy Finance market, One Search is also an established recruiter across Structured Finance more broadly. We have completed numerous searches for Structured Finance teams within both Corporate and Investment banks on both a retained and contingent basis, at all levels from Analyst to MD.

We work with teams across EMEA and our key areas of focus within Structured Finance are as follows:

Infrastructure & Energy Finance

Lying at the very heart of our business, Infrastructure & Energy Finance was the market which One Search was first founded to serve, and the specialism for which it is still best known. As a wider firm we cover this area comprehensively, with coverage of equity investors, sponsors and advisors, our Structured Finance team covers the debt side of the piece. We work with the full spectrum of platform sizes, ranging from SMBC with their 50+ strong team in London alone, right through to the more boutique houses like DZ Bank with 4 or 5. Our mandates range from standard replacement hires through to building out teams from scratch, as we have successfully done with the likes of SuMi Trust.

Leveraged & Acquisition Finance

Another area in which we are well known for supporting those banks who in turn support some of the biggest asset buyouts in the market. Having successfully closed numerous mandates with leading platforms in the space, including Susan Shehata’s team at HSBC, we are regarded as the go-to recruitment firm in this sub-sector.

Aviation & Shipping Finance

An important area of growth for many of our clients, Aviation & Shipping Finance is increasingly coming into focus for One Search and we have made some key hires into these sub-sectors. These include a number of Aviation Finance mandates with a selection of predominantly French and Japanese banks.

Trade Finance

Trade Finance sometimes sits within Structured Finance divisions, and sometimes as a division of its own, depending on the bank. It is then dissected further either by product (Export Finance, Receivables Finance, Supply Chain Finance, etc) or by geography. One of our most recent mandates was with SMBC, who were looking to hire a VP to join their Africa Trade Finance desk, a fairly specialised role into which we ultimately placed Olufemi Williams out of Citi.

Corporate Banking/Relationship Management

A huge area in its own right, but one into which we have a unique insight for roles with an Infra & Energy flavour, and predominantly on the Relationship Management side. We recently placed Rob Nesbitt, previously a Director in the Structured Finance team at RBS, into a Director position in the Oil & Gas Corporate Banking team at SMBC.
